A lockset may be operated thousands of times over the life of a window or door. What matters is not simply whether it works when it is new, but whether the mechanism continues to operate reliably after repeated use.
SIIGMATIC provides NATA-accredited testing to relevant AS 4145.2 requirements for mechanical locksets used in doors and windows. Our testing can assess the durability of the locking mechanism and its ease of operation, providing independent evidence that the product continues to function after the prescribed test sequence.
Using purpose-built cycling equipment, locksets can be repeatedly operated to simulate the demands of service life. Performance is then assessed to determine whether the mechanism remains operable and whether the forces required to operate the lock remain within the applicable requirements.
AS 4145.2 is also referenced by AGWA’s ICP-002 Industry Code of Practice for window and door hardware. Under ICP-002, a lockset that has successfully completed the applicable AS 4145.2 durability testing can satisfy the corresponding cyclic-durability requirement, making recognised test evidence particularly valuable for hardware manufacturers supplying the Australian window and door industry.
Following successful testing, SIIGMATIC can provide a NATA-endorsed test report for testing conducted within our accredited scope, giving manufacturers, suppliers and fabricators independent evidence of the tested lockset’s mechanical durability and operating performance.
For a product that may be locked and unlocked tens of thousands of times during its working life, durability should not be an assumption. Test it, document it and know how it performs.
