Windows and glazed doors are expected to do far more than simply open, close and keep the glass in place. They need to withstand the wind pressures, weather exposure and everyday operation expected at their intended location while helping protect the building from water ingress, excessive air leakage and structural failure.
SIIGMATIC provides NATA-accredited performance testing for windows and external glazed doors to support compliance with AS 2047. Testing is carried out using the relevant AS 4420 methods and can assess deflection under wind load, operating force, air infiltration, water penetration resistance and ultimate strength.
The result is independent evidence of how a window or door system actually performs. Testing establishes the performance ratings that manufacturers and fabricators rely upon when determining where their products can be used, including the appropriate serviceability and ultimate wind pressures and water penetration resistance.
For Australian window manufacturers, and particularly AGWA members, proper AS 2047 test evidence should sit behind the performance claims made for every system. AGWA itself recommends that purchasers verify that windows have been tested to AS 2047 at a NATA-accredited facility and retain the appropriate compliance documentation and test evidence.

Before you book.
Do I need to test every size?
AS 2047 uses product classification and test-specimen rules agreed during pre-test review rather than requiring every manufactured size to be physically tested. The correct test matrix depends on the product family and claimed ratings.
Can we use the lab for development before certification?
Yes. Development testing can be scoped separately so design changes can be made before a final accredited test campaign. That keeps development work separate from certification.
