Every great innovation has a story, and SIIGMATIC Testing Laboratories is no exception. Born from the pioneering spirit of CiiLOCK Engineering, our history is built on precision, integrity and an uncompromising pursuit of better testing. From an internal engineering capability, SIIGMATIC grew into an independently operated, NATA-accredited testing laboratory serving the wider industry.

The making of a testing powerhouse

It started with a
very specific frustration.

SIIGMATIC did not begin as a marketing idea for a laboratory. It began because an engineering team needed to test, learn, modify and test again without allowing external lead times to dictate the pace of product development.

That practical origin still matters. SIIGMATIC is a professional testing laboratory, but it grew from people who wanted testing to answer real engineering questions — not simply produce paperwork.

The Beginning

We needed answers.
No one could give them fast enough.

SIIGMATIC was born out of a need — a very specific, very frustrating need. At the time, CiiLOCK was a specialist engineering company designing high-performance hardware for doors and windows. We were solving real problems, developing innovative components and designing systems that had never existed before. But every new idea raised questions: Would it hold? Could it be better? Where would it fail — and why? We needed answers. But no one could give them fast enough.

The test labs we approached were booked out for months. Their processes were rigid, their equipment generic. The kind of iterative testing we required — quick cycles, practical simulations, insights that shaped design — was nowhere to be found.

And that’s when we realised: if we were going to keep innovating, we’d have to build the test lab ourselves.

It began as an internal facility — but it quickly became something more. We engineered test rigs ourselves. We built systems that could replicate real-world stress, simulate unique movement profiles and test failure points with precision.

We weren’t doing this for certification — we were doing it to improve. Because in engineering, assumptions don’t cut it. You either know… or you don’t.

From internal capability
to an industry laboratory.

By 2021, SIIGMATIC had grown into something bigger. That year, we achieved NATA accreditation and officially opened our services to the wider industry. What began as a necessity inside CiiLOCK had become a testing solution available to external clients.

SIIGMATIC operates under ISO/IEC 17025 for the methods within its published NATA scope of accreditation.

Today, SIIGMATIC is an independent testing company. But its DNA is rooted in real-world product development. We know what it feels like to be held back by unanswered questions. That is why we value practical scheduling, private customer sessions and clear communication. For development or non-standard requirements, we can also design and build purpose-specific test arrangements where the scope and method are agreed for the work.

We believe the real value of testing isn’t in passing — it’s in learning. It is in finding the weak points, the edge cases and the things nobody saw coming. Those moments are where design improves, products evolve and engineering gets real.

SIIGMATIC is accredited by NATA, Australia’s national accreditation body. NATA participates in international mutual-recognition arrangements, supporting recognition of accredited laboratory results within the applicable scope and arrangement.

Performance is more than
one type of test.

We provide testing across a broad range of performance criteria, including window and door performance, operational durability of hardware, lockset testing, fall-prevention requirements, corrosion exposure and strength or impact work within the relevant scope.

Energy performance is also an important part of the laboratory. WERS ratings, whole-window U-Value and SHGC analysis, standalone whole-product energy performance reports and Custom Window U-Value analysis for project windows and doors now form a major part of that capability. SIIGMATIC later expanded into residential energy-assessment work, but it remains secondary to a primary service focus.

And we are not just ticking boxes. Engineering insight matters when something fails. Testing can be validation — but it can also be an opportunity to refine, rethink and re-engineer.
