With the proven, best in class Mother of All Rollers technology forming the core of this project, the CiiLOCK design team went back to the drawing board and challenged every design decision in the patented technology’s storied history, re-evaluated every assumption, retested every variation, scrutinised every component and analysed every material. After many hours in the lab, they had their plan of attack.

✙ Tire Materials

After scouring the globe for the best materials, our engineers put the lab to work, testing and cataloguing the most promising candidates, zeroing in on the perfect Engineered Polymer for the On Ice roller - minimising operating force, and maximising cycle life.

✙ Bearings

The right tire material is nothing without a good bearing to pair with it, and not all bearings are created equal. Minimising operating force requires careful curation of bearing width, diameter, internal clearance spec and lubrication spec. Our lab technicians left no stone unturned in selecting the perfect bearing for the On Ice.

✙ Geometry

Size does matter. During development we set the ambitious goal to put the biggest wheels possible into the same small footprint. Careful adjustments to the housing and carriages allowed us to fit wheels 20% larger than common rollers available on the market, without increasing the overall size of the product you know and love.
